ROTOACTION STAFF PICKS
Back for another year of humiliation!
Joining us as the guest picker this year is our good friend Steve Moyer, president of Baseball Info Solutions. Steve's worked in the baseball industry since 1991 with STATS, Inc., Broadband Sports, RotoWire and now Baseball Info Solutions. He considers himself the NFL expert in his local league only BECAUSE he reads Salfino and Pianowski. And he thinks it's hilarious that he's being pitted against them in this contest. Of course, that's just a clever attempt to blame us if he loses.
But losing will be tough if Scott Pianowski and I are as bad as last year. I took home the booby prize, but finished under .500 for the year (including the playoffs). Last year's guest Jonah Keri, now of ESPN and ESPN The Magazine, correctly notes that he was the winner if we played like most pick contests, which end at the regular season. Here, we go as long as it takes for the guest to lose. The Pro Bowl is on the table. NFL Europe? Don't think Staff Picks Week 35 is impossible next June.
Seriously, I just want to beat Pianowski, who is back only after fierce backroom fisticuffs with up-and-comer David Ferris. We promised Ferris that if I beat Pianowski again, he can replace him. For some reason, Scott's not worried.
